That was a long sentence. Then that sentence there was fairly short. Lots going on in the world of blink-182 lately. There’ve been announcements, side projects, tours, tv shows, etc. I think some people are confused as to what’s really happening, and I wanted to take a second to set it all straight and put rumors and hearsay to rest.

So here it is: blink-182 is full steam ahead!!

In June and July we will be at the rehearsal spot, getting ready for the European tour this summer, and writing new songs. When the European tour is finished, we head back and play ONE SHOW in Southern California. Then that is IT for live shows for the rest of 2010. Why? Because we’ll be in the studio recording the new blink-182 album. Until it is finished. I cannot be more clear on this: new blink-182 music is on the way. There was some confusion this week about a new track being premiered on KROQ here in LA. On a segment where the station was announcing our performance in their concert, they hinted to “be prepared for the premiere of a new song,” but they were referring to another band. Not blink-182. For us, the big announcement was the fact that we are playing that show and then recording our new album. I understand how people would be confused (and angry). Believe me, when we have new blink-182 music for you all, we will make it LOUD AND CLEAR. We’ll be screaming about it. You won’t be able to get away from us talking about it. And that moment is on the way. All of us have ideas from before and after the tour last summer, and are excited to get into the studio and see those ideas come to light. Simple as that.

Also, today at Radio City Music Hall was the press conference to announce the tv show I’m hosting for fuse. We’ve been putting it together quietly behind the scenes for the past couple of months, and are getting into full swing with it now. “A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus” will premiere in September, and is a weekly, hour-long, music based talk show. It’s going to be smart, funny, irreverent, and professional enough to be a great show, while being wheels-off enough to always be on the edge of completely falling apart. There’s really nothing like it out there right now, and I get to do whatever I want with bands that I love. From huge international stars to up-and-coming artists. It’s the next step from the himynameismark podcast and the column I write for spin magazine. I get a microphone, a set, a co-host, a tv crew, and the mandate to set out and bring you all kinds of musical awesomes. There will be in-studio interviews, live performances, backstage footage, etc. The amazing thing about this show is that there truly are no rules. If there are artists we like and ideas we think are cool, we’re going to put them on tv. And another great thing: this show is not going to interrupt or disrupt my commitment and dedication to the blink-182 recording in any way. Everyone in both the blink-182 and fuse families have been super cool and accommodating. The new blink-182 album and this tv show are my passions and priorities above all else this year. I’m definitely going to be exhausted and overworked, but between the two projects, I haven’t been this excited and motivated in a long time.

The future is very exciting and very near!! Thanks to all of you who have and continue to support blink-182 and everything we do. You are the best, and we’re doing all we can to make it well worth the wait. May the force be with you…

Mark Hoppus Talks Trousdale Press Project With All Time Low

Earlier this week, All Time Low took to their Twitter account to let fans know that they were logging some studio time with Mark Hoppus. It was an announcement that was greeted with much enthusiasm from the band's fans, though it wasn't exactly surprising.

After all, All Time Low recorded a song with Hoppus in the lead-up to their last album, Nothing Personal, and though the track didn't make the final cut, Hopp took it in stride, making a cameo in the band's video for the first single, "Weightless."

And days after Personal bowed at #4 on the Billboard albums chart, frontman Alex Gaskarth told MTV News that they definitely planned on re-teaming with Hoppus in the future, and promised that the song they had previously recorded would "definitely come out someday."

And it looks like Gaskarth is a man of his word. Because when they got together earlier this week, Hoppus and ATL weren't working on something for the follow-up to Nothing Personal. Instead, they were finishing up that mysterious track for inclusion on an equally mysterious project Hoppus is calling Trousdale Press. And that's straight from the man himself.

"We worked together on a song for their last record that they did not end up using. It's a great song, and has just been laying dormant for the past year," Hoppus told MTV News in an e-mail. "While Blink-182 has been on down time before the European tour and album recording, I've been in the studio with a bunch of friends working on a project called Trousdale Press. Alex and Jack came down yesterday and we finished up that track. It's a rocker."

Hoppus wouldn't reveal any other details about the song, or Trousdale Press (though he did mention the latter in a Tweet on Tuesday), but from the sound of things, the project is close to being finished.

"We're hoping to have the album tracking finished in the next two weeks," he wrote. "I'm sure there will be a full press thing that you'll be sent in the near future, but that's the basics of the thing."

Travis Barker has heard what both of his Blink-182 bandmates have had to say about the status of the group's much-anticipated new album ... that it would be coming out in 2011 or, alternatively, that it would be coming out much sooner. And now, he's wading into the fray.

When MTV News caught up with Barker backstage at the Grammy Awards on Sunday — minutes after herocked the stage with Lil Wayne, Eminem and Drake — we asked him for an update on Blink's follow-up to their self-titled 2003 effort. And, from the sound of things, it's gonna be a long year for Blink fans.
"We're about to start working on it. I'm gonna try to wrap up my album and, uh, Tom has his band, he's wrapping up that album, and then we'll start working on a Blink record," Barker said. "We go to Europe in August for all the festivals ... we do, like, six weeks out there, and then our album will come out probably early next year."
A spokesperson for Blink-182's label Interscope did not respond to MTV News' request for comment at press time.
So while the band seems to be following bassist Mark Hoppus' plan of "just getting back in the studio and do what we do," the fruits of that plan might not be heard for a while. But Barker maintains that a new Blink record is still very much the top priority for all three men, especially after they passed their first test — a high-profile reunion tour — with flying colors.
"This summer was the test, and we got out there, and it was the best time I've had playing with those two dudes in my life," Barker said. "It felt even better than old times, so I can't wait to do an album together again

Mark Hoppus has heard all the talk about the Blink-182 album not coming out until 2011, and he's determined not to let that happen.

It all started earlier this week, when he tweeted, "2011 is too far away. Gonna do all I can to have a Blink-182 album in 2010." And when MTV News caught up with him Thursday night in Los Angeles, he laid out how he plans to finish the album, which has been in the works for more than a year now. As it turns out, the first step is just getting everyone together in the same room.
"We did a bunch of writing before we left on this tour, then we came home and decided we were going to take a couple of months and chill and do other stuff, then get back together in the beginning of the year," Hoppus said. "And now that it's almost February, we decided it's time to get back in the studio and do what we do. So that's the plan: just get back together and get to work."
Seems simple enough. But when Blink reconvene in the studio, what will their new songs sound like? We've already heard Tom DeLonge describe the new Blink songs as "ambitious" and "the work of our life," but by now, we're sort of used to him saying stuff like that. So we asked Hoppus to fill us in.
"We definitely want to try a bunch of different stuff. I think it will still sound like Blink. I think it will still be catchy. I think it will still be poppy, but we want to be weird on this record," he said. "There's your pull quote: Mark Hoppus says 'We want to be weird on this record.' "

But from where will all this weirdness spring? Well, apparently from pretty much everywhere.
"Everybody listens to such different stuff. Tom is really into, like, '80s stadium rock; huge, monumental '80s rock bands. Travis is all over the place, musically, and he always comes up with beats and drum parts that are so way out that I would never think of them," Hoppus said. "And I've just been listening to a lot of weird indie rock. So somewhere between amazing hip-hop beats, stadium rock and indie rock, you'll find Blink."
And while he's trying very hard to get the follow-up to Blink's 2003 self-titled album in stores this year, Hoppus also hopes fans will be patient. They want this to be the album of their lives, after all. And just because each member of Blink is also working on other projects — DeLonge's Angels & Airwaves will release their third album,Love, on February 14; Barker is working on a solo album; and the Hoppus-produced Motion City Soundtrack album, My Dinosaur Life, hit stores last week — that doesn't mean Blink isn't still their top priority.
"I think that everything that everyone works on outside of Blink comes back to Blink.

And being involved in all these different projects allows us to go off and try different ideas and bring those ideas back home to what we do every day. And I think it's a really positive thing," Hoppus said. "I know it's confusing for people, because everyone's like, 'Tom's doing this, and Travis is doing this, and Mark's producing ... why aren't you guys focusing on Blink?' But I think what people need to understand is that, that's how we focus on Blink. We go off, and we bring all these different pieces and ideas back, and we get inspired by other artists and get inspired by working with different people, and then when we come back to Blink, it just helps us."

Eminem, Drake, Lil Wayne and Travis Barker will team up for a special performance at Sunday night's Grammy Awards. The addition of the rap crew that represents nearly the entire lineup for the remix of Drake's "Forever" — only awards-show fire starter Kanye West is missing — was announced via the Grammys' Twitter early Thursday morning. (A spokesperson for the Grammys could not be reached at press time to confirm the addition.)

They join a major roster of performers that is already packed with all five Album of the Year nominees — Beyoncé, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Dave Matthews Band and Taylor Swift — as well as Bon Jovi, Green Day, Lady Antebellum, Maxwell, Pink and the Zac Brown Band. The show will also boast a 3-D tribute to Michael Jackson featuring Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Carrie Underwood and Usher.

The Grammys Twitter also announced that Simon Baker, Ryan Seacrest, Chris O'Donnell, Robert Downey Jr. and Kaley Cuoco will be presenters at the 52nd annual awards show. Previously announced presenters include Kristen Bell, Justin Bieber, Jeff Bridges, Miley Cyrus, Josh Duhamel, the Jonas Brothers, Norah Jones, Ke$ha, LL Cool J, Ricky Martin, Carlos Santana and Ringo Starr.

For the show, Mary J. Blige will team up with famed tenor Andrea Bocelli to perform Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" as part of a fundraiser for Haiti earthquake relief.

The special fundraising segment of Sunday night's program will be released as an iTunes/Target.com download following the telecast, and all proceeds from its sale will go to the American Red Cross for earthquake recovery efforts in the devastated Caribbean island nation. Blige provided one of the emotional highlights of Friday night's "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon with a spirited cover of the traditional folk song"Hard Times Come Again No More."

Perhaps all that talk of a Blink-182 releasing a new album in 2010 was a tad premature — at least, according to Tom DeLonge.

In an interview with Billboard, the Blink guitarist was discussing his plans to release Love, the third album from his other band, Angels & Airwaves, for free. (It will be available for download through A&A's official site starting on — fittingly enough — February 14.) During the interview, he let it slip that Blink were in discussions with Interscope Records about releasing a brand-new studio record in 2011.

In theory, this wasn't exactly shocking. After all, Blink have been working on the follow-up to their self-titled 2003 album since they reunited at last year's Grammys, and though they've talked up new songs and brought a camera crew in to document the recording process, they've yet to actually announce when the album will be released. At press time, Interscope Records had not commented on the album's release date.

Earlier this month, in a teaser trailer for its upcoming "Blinkumentary," Los Angeles-based production company Handsome Randsome claimed that Blink were currently in the studio working on the album, and in November, drummer Travis Barker told MTV News that he and his bandmates were planning on "getting together once a week or once every two weeks" to work on the album.

All of which led fans to speculate that the new Blink disc would be hitting stores this year — but according to DeLonge, that may not be the case.

MTV Reports On Next Album Being "AMBITIOUS"

It's been more than six years since Blink-182 released their untitled (or, some say, self-titled) fifth album, which was born from increased tension within the band, carried with it the dreaded "mature" mantle, and eventually led to Mark, Tom and Travis taking an "indefinite hiatus." It was, by all accounts, a pretty difficult time for everyone involved.

These days, things are different in the Blink camp. They buried old beefs and reunited onstage at the 2009 Grammy Awards, talked about making a new album, then hit the road on a raucous arena tour. It was very much like old times. The good old times.

And with a triumphant 2009 behind them, they roll into 2010 with one roadblock remaining: that aforementioned new album. They didn't play the one new track they'd completed — "Up All Night" — on their reunion tour, and, so far, the only recording plan we've heard of was Travis Barker's promise to include new Blink material on his upcoming solo album. Needless to say, the timetable appears to be slightly sketchy for when we'll actually get to hear any of the new stuff — let alone a new album. But that hasn't stopped fans from speculating that this will finally be the year that we get the follow-up to their 2003 effort.

But what will the new Blink sound like? Well, according to the guys themselves, probably not what you're expecting. Just last week, a Los Angeles production company called Handsome Randsome released a teaser trailer for their upcoming "Blinkumentary," which mentioned that Blink were definitely in the studio right now working on the album and quoted guitarist Tom DeLonge as saying, "No one really knows what to expect from the next Blink record, [but] I don't think anyone thinks it's going to be a straightforward rock record. ... [It's] probably the most ambitious songwriting and art that we've ever made."

Then there's the new song bassist Mark Hoppus created with Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz, for the upcoming "Alice in Wonderland" soundtrack. According to Wentz, the track — called "In Transit" — "sounds nothing like Blink" and was more the end product of a pair of buddies working together for the heck of it. Still, it is new music, and it seems to be in keeping with what DeLonge talked about in the "Blinkumentary" trailer.

So maybe the new Blink will be a bit like Angels & Airwaves, mixed with a touch of (+44)? Or maybe it won't at all. And what about that mysterious solo album Hoppus told MTV News about early last year? Who will produce the new album? And will they finish recording it before heading to Europe for a string of shows this summer? There are plenty of questions and very few answers (there's not even a tentative release date scheduled for the album yet, according to Blink's label, Interscope).

And, really, at the end of the day, all that matters is that we're actually talking about a new Blink record, right? We've waited a long time for this, and 2010 is already looking better because of it.

Im not to sure if they have repressed ANOTHER 300 or if these are just left overs that were ordered but never paid for from the original. Either way, if you want this, pick up a copy while you still can.

Flores, 24, is a filmmaker who grew up in San Diego(Blink are from nearby Poway, California) idolizing the music and antics of Mark, Tom and Travis, and at the beginning of the year — after a viewing of 2005 docu-drama "Lords Of Dogtown" — he decided that someone should make a movie about the band's early days. And that someone should be him."I saw that movie and I thought, 'The guys in Blink deserve a movie like that about them,' " Flores told MTV News. "They have an awesome life, and they're one of my favorite bands. So the idea got in my head, and over the summer — right around the time of the Blink reunion tour — my friends and I started writing a script about their early days." Called "Blink," the film follows the adventures of Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and original drummer Scott Raynor as they start a band (in DeLonge's garage) begin playing shows and slowly earn a fanbase. It also documents their struggles — including Raynor's exit in 1998 — and ends with DeLonge and Hoppus meeting Travis Barker, forming the Blink that millions of fans know and love today Determined to make the film as accurate as possible Flores and his friends have spent the majority of the year interviewing fans who were at Blink's early shows, and they count Mark's sister Anne's 200 band bio Tales From Beneath Your Mom as inspiration for the movie.

They also began calling Blink-182's management company, with the hopes of securing the rights to a few early songs for the film. So far, no luck"We've been trying to get in touch with their management, or even the guys in Blink, because we'd like to use their songs in the movie," Flores said. "Or maybe we could even get the guys to do a cameo in the film."(MTV News' attempts to reach Blink-182's management for comment proved unsuccessful by press time.) We've been getting help from a lot of fans who were there at the beginning. We want to do this right." So, armed with some promising headshots ("We've gotten a lot of Marks, and we're close to casting one") and a $55,000 budget, Flores is hoping to do just that. The plan is to start filming "Blink" in April and Flores and his crew are busy scouting locations They're also not giving up hope of securing a Blink song or two, or maybe even that elusive cameo — something Hoppus didn't seem opposed to when MTV News contacted him about the film on Monday(December 7), even if he had no idea what we were talking about when we asked him."No, I didn't know anything about the movie. I wonder how it pays?" Hoppus wrote in an e-mail

Travis Barker Promises New Blink-182 Song On His Solo Record

While the status of Blink-182's much-discussed "Up All Night" — the new song they didn't play on their just-wrapped reunion tour — remains unclear, drummerTravis Barker isn't letting that stop him from talking up another new Blink tune, one that will appear on his upcoming solo record.

"There's some stuff on my record that's not going to have a bunch of guitars, that are just straight-up hip hop records. Everything's going be real different. It's going to be really well-rounded," he told MTV News on Wednesday. "We got a new Blink song on there, I think I'm going to do something with Chester Bennington from Linkin Park. Hopefully a guest appearance from Slash, I'm doing his big fundraiser that happens this month. I think there's going to be a collaboration with [Kanye West's touring DJ] A-Track, so it's gonna be really in all directions."

Barker didn't have many details about that new Blink tune — mostly because the band hasn't written it yet — but he's clear about one thing: The song most definitelyisn't "Up All Night." Blink have other plans for that.

"No, 'Up All Night' will have its own home, and it won't be on my record. That will continue to be part of a new Blink record or will be released through Blink182.com or something, it's going to be a surprise," Barker said. "The new song that we record for my record is just going to be something from scratch, and just us doing our thing."

The plan, according to Barker, is to have work on his solo record completed in "January or February," and he hopes to support it with a tour. But that's a pretty loose thing. After all, he and his Blink mates are taking it easy these days, recharging from time on the road.

"We're kind of taking the rest of the year off, for everyone to finish up other stuff they have going on," Barker said. "We want to re-group next year and start getting together once a week or once every two weeks to start doing the beginning work on our record."

Of course, Barker's also been hard at work remixing tracks — he premiered hisbrand-new version of the Drake/ Eminem/ Kanye West/ Lil Wayne collaboration "Forever" on MTVNews.com on Wednesday.

Big news for all you collectors out there. Thanks to Punknews.org and Duck182 from our forums, this story has come to our attention. Enema of the State will be re-pressed on 4 different color vinyls. Check out the whole story below;

Blink-182's wildly popular 1999 full-length, Enema of the State, will be released on vinyl for the first time by independent punk/hardcore label Mightier Than Sword Records (O Pioneers!!!, Ris Paul Ric, Smartbomb). The news was initially mentioned late last night on Generic Insight Radio, but Punknews.org is ecstatic to now bring you exclusive details on the release.

The album will be the first in a 10 Year Anniversary series by the label, with each release involving a limited pressing of 500 on 180-gram vinyl. They will also feature a gold seal to commemorate the release. In addition to the 500 180-gram copies, Mightier Than Sword will also press 500 each on clear red, clear blue and clear colors.

The official release date is set for December 1, but the label will begin taking pre-orders this coming Monday, October 19th.

Enema of the State was originally released in 1999 on MCA and featured some of Blink-182's biggest hits to date, including "All the Small Things," "What's My Age Again?" and "Adam's Song." It went on to sell 15 million copies worldwide.

Blink-182 Tom DeLonge Mask Becomes Phenomenon, Spawns Video Contest

There are a lot of things that have the potential to disturb at a Blink-182 show: the non-stop poop and pee jokes, the impressively vulgar barrage of foul language and just about anything Mark Hoppus says. But one of the weirdest experiences I had when I saw the reunited band this summer was standing in the photo pit just moments before the trio took the stage and turning around to stare at a sea of goofily grinning Tom DeLonge faces.

Dozens of kids in the first couple rows of the pit were wearing masks of a youthful-looking DeLonge and I had no idea what the deal was.

Then I got a press release on Friday from DeLonge's clothing/shoe company, Macbeth, which explained that the masks were originally printed up to promote the company's Brighton shoe design, but as word spread about them at shows, the original order sold out and fans have been clamoring to get their hands on them.

So, because Tom's a great guy, you can now log on to get your very own downloadable Tom mask here. The frenzy has also inspired a "No, I'm Tom DeLonge" video contest on the Macbeth site in which fans are being asked to recreate their favorite scene from a Blink-182 video while wearing the mask. Now that sounds truly scary.

The guys of Blink 182 are very happy they still have Travis Barker to kick around and are donating $100,000 to the burn center that saved his life. Travis and his good friend, the late DJ AM were seriously injured in the crash that killed four others.

Following the band's show in Phoenix Saturday night, the issued a statement saying they were donating $100,000 of the concert's proceeds to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.

The contribution is being made "in recognition of their tremendous care and aid of Travis Barker through his recovery from the 2008 plane crash."
